Raising daughters

So I'm reading my favorite blog and she is talking about modesty,
and linking up to this blog.
Where she is talking about Mom's linking up for modesty.

This is great because with 2 almost grown sons and 3 daughters, I really need to watch how I dress as a mom.
My oldest daughter is at an age where we are having to tell her to go back and change.
Whether she's outgrown a pair a jeans and they are to tight, or she needs a sweater
over that tank top.
But I haven't done a good job of explaining why to her, just go change and change now!!

A while back I bought a book for her:
Before you meet Prince Charming by Sarah Mally

I am going to have all my girls read it.
Another book I've been wanting to get is

Bringing up Girls by Dr. Dobson.

I have the Bringing up Boys by Dr. Dobson.
That was a real eye opener because I never had brothers.

I am going to follow the blog http://www.homeswheremyheartis.blogspot.com/, because I think this
is a good thing, this Mom's for Modesty.

And I think you should never stop learning.  Modesty has not even been on my radar!
I have so much going on and so many other issues.
But it should be a top priority, so link up with me mom's!

  2. Hi Prudence,

I wanted to stop by and say hi and thank you for signing up for my blog today. Sounds like you and I have a lot in common! You have a great blog, and I love that you love vintage stuff! Where in Oregon are you? We're in Spokane, WA. Not all that far away.

I really appreciate your support and standing with me on this issue. It is critical for both girls and boys to understand modesty.

    Many blessings to you,
    Erin

  3. Fabulous post, Prudy. So happy you wrote your own post. I had no idea what would pour out of my own heart when I wrote mine but I am so glad I did it. I don't talk about my past much and remembering it is hard. But it is so worth it if we can stand together on an issue that is so meaningful and important. Love ya girl!
